How Hannie & Claudia are Building PROWORX Dance With Werk

Two NFL & NBA veterans training the next generation of pro dancers
The most magical part of being on a team was the team. So we made that happen for our community at PROWORX.
– Claudia, Co-Founder, PROWORX
There's a moment that happens when you leave a team that nobody really prepares you for. You've spent years walking into practice knowing every person in the room – their quirks, their strengths, their bad days, their best performances. And then one day, you're back in a regular dance class, surrounded by strangers, and the thing you miss most isn't the arena or the lights or the crowd. It's the room. The sisters. The team.
Hannie and Claudia both felt that. And instead of sitting with the loss, they built something out of it.
PROWORX is a training program for pre-professional dancers who want to go pro – and a community for the ones who already have, and aren't quite ready to let that feeling go. They're not guessing at what dancers need. They lived it.
Two Roads, One Vision
Hannie grew up dancing in the Bay Area from age 7, competed throughout her youth, then put dance on the back burner at UC Berkeley as a pre-med student. It was the Cal dance team that pulled her back in – she saw them perform, tried out, made the team, and something clicked.
After graduating, she tried out for the Golden State Warriors, made the team, and stayed for six seasons: four as captain, won two championship rings, and performed at around 200 games at Oracle Arena and Chase Center.
After retiring, she coached the Cal team, then landed what she calls her dream job: coaching, choreographing, and teaching for the Las Vegas Raiders. She's also, by the way, a software engineer by day.
Claudia came to dance later –dragged to a jazz class by her sister at 12, immediately obsessed. She competed, trained across styles, traveled the US with the LADM company, and eventually studied dance at UCLA with a focus on theory.
While still in college, she joined the LA Charger Girls. Then Covid ended the team permanently. "That was my first real taste of dancing professionally," she says. "It was really devastating." She pivoted, eventually auditioning for the Raiderettes and spending three seasons in Las Vegas that she describes as some of the best years of her life. Then she came back to LA, started teaching, and realized pretty quickly that something was missing.
They met 3 years before PROWORX came to life. Hannie saw in Claudia something she knew was rare – someone who showed up to every practice still hungry, still trying to grow, never losing sight of why she danced. "She's the other side of my brain," Hannie says. "Whenever I'm spiraling, I know I can depend on her." Claudia is equally direct: "I genuinely could not do this alone at all."
I realized how much I wanted and craved community again. And that the most magical part of being on a team – was the team.

Why PROWORX Exists
When Hannie started teaching in LA, she kept running into the same wall. She had students who were serious – committed, talented, genuinely trying to go pro – and an hour and a half just wasn't enough time to give them what they actually needed.
"In class, you learn the choreography and perform it," she says. "But for a dance team, they want you to dance as a unit. They want you to hit pictures from the nosebleeds of an arena. That's what's missing in class."
She wanted longer sessions, smaller cohorts, and the kind of mentorship that could actually move people forward. She knew she couldn't do it alone. She called Claudia.
Claudia, meanwhile, was feeling the absence of something she hadn't fully appreciated until it was gone. "I would get into class and I wouldn't know anyone," she says. "I was used to walking into practice and knowing everything about every single person in the room. I realized how much I craved community again."
PROWORX became the answer to both problems at once. It's rigorous enough to actually prepare dancers for professional auditions, and human enough to give them the team feeling back.
What PROWORX Looks Like
The core of PROWORX is a seasonal training program: eight to ten weeks, one to two sessions per week, three to four hours each. Each cohort is small and intentional. The curriculum is built around the dancers' actual goals and the audition season ahead.
If NBA auditions are coming up, they bring in Laker Girls and Warriors choreographers. If it's NFL season, pom instructors come in.
The first half of every session focuses on mental resilience – intentionality, purpose, the inner work that most training programs skip entirely. The second half is execution: cleaning routines, dancing as a unit, hitting every picture from every angle.
Beyond the seasonal program, PROWORX has two public-facing offerings anyone can drop into through Werk:
01
Master Class Mondays
Guest instructors and choreographers from across the industry, AKA the people who are actually in the rooms PROWORX dancers are trying to get into.
02
Technique Wednesdays
Pilates-based body alignment, conditioning, and technique drills led by Claudia, who is also a certified Pilates instructor and personal trainer.
The feedback from their community says it all. As Hannie says,
The greatest thing I hear from our members isn't that they got better at dance. It's that they found their joy in dance again. And they found their sisters.
Watching people come out of their shell, doing something vulnerable in a room full of people who are rooting for them – that's what PROWORX was built for.
Running It on Werk: Fewer Tools, More Focus
Before Werk, PROWORX was stitched together across multiple platforms – a website builder here, a class management tool there, a separate booking system somewhere else. It worked, but it created friction everywhere.
"I'm really freaking excited to cancel all of those subscriptions," Hannie says. With Werk, everything lives in one place. And the difference showed up immediately where it matters most: sign-ups.
"The way we used to run it – if it's too hard to sign up, no one's going to come," Claudia says. "Now that it's so streamlined, we have so many more people showing up to Master Class Tuesdays and Technique Wednesdays."
Both public drop-ins run through Werk, and the frictionless experience has made a real difference in who walks through the door.
Werk lets us focus on what we actually love: choreographing, teaching, coaching, mentoring. The operations are handled.

PROWORX Strength & Power: Now Enrolling
Hannie and Claudia are expanding beyond the studio floor.
Their newest program, PROWORX Strength & Power, is designed for dancers who want to build the physical foundation that high-level performance actually demands. Think full-body conditioning, core stability, lower-body strength, stamina, and explosive power – all of it tailored specifically to how dancers move.
Every participant receives a customized workout plan built around their individual goals and areas of growth, plus accountability check-in meetings throughout the program to track progress and keep them consistent. The result is sharper execution, stronger jumps, cleaner transitions, and greater confidence in choreography, not just in the studio, but on stage.
If PROWORX taught you how to move like a professional, Strength & Power is what makes sure your body can keep up. You can enroll for the program on their Werk page.
Coming Soon: PROWORX Fall 2026!

What's Next for PROWORX Dance
"Where do they go after they retire?" Hannie asks, talking about dancers coming off NFL and NBA teams. The answer, she hopes, is PROWORX. To keep moving, keep growing, keep being part of something. The benchmark keeps moving – every milestone just reveals the next one. But the foundation is already there, and it's stronger than either of them imagined it would be this quickly.
